Hello everyone. I have a nvidia gtx 760 on pci-e 2.0 x16. I've read, that pci-e 2.0 x16 max frequency is 5ghz and gtx 760 memory frequency is 6ghz. Does that mean, that there is no use in oveclocking the memory, since max pci frequency is lower anyways?

If you want better gaming performance you need to overclock the core clock, unless you've already done that and want to OC the memory too?

Well I guess there is use. I overclocked the memory and got higher 3dmark score. Maybe because it's not 6ghz, but actually 3ghz in dual mode or smth, so I am well below max frequency.

I've read that you can damage you GPU with OCing the memory if you push it to the limit. So maybe it's best if you don't run the GPU on max frequency.
