Hi i have recently bought a MSI radeon 7990 6gb gpu, and ive noticed in games like crysis 3 after more than 1 hour gameplay the temps reach 87 degrees, i was wondering if that temp was ok.
Usually more powerful cards can have higher temps but not sure about this one thanks.

my specs:
Bitfenix collossus case
B75A-G43 GAMING Motherboard
i7-3770K CPU @4.4ghz With hydro h100 liquid cooler.
2x4gb 1866 Corsair vengeance ram
MSI Radeon 7990 6gb GPU
samsung 840 series 260gb ssd windows install
1tb hdd and 500gb hdd
750 watt OCZ psu

That temperature is fine, you'd have quite a time trying to keep it any cooler than that.

From a few reviews I've seen that card usually runs at around 75 under load. On a different review I saw one doing 90 and according to the site AMD themselves said that the card should not be hitting those temps. The threshold is 102. Maybe adjust the fan profile ?

On a different site actually doing a review of the MSI card you have they showed temps of 75-83 under load :\
I guess its fine then although they say that you can apparently cook a pork chop in a few hours using the card then

I have noticed when its hitting the 87 it only has 67 percent fan you would have thought it would be morei might have to force it a bit higher just dont want my case to take off lol

Nah. I have 2 200mm fans ontop of my case running at 2500rpm each plus 6 120mm inside running on average around 2500 as well. Makes one hell of a noise but won't take off :p  otherwise just weigh it down with a few bricks or tie a rope to it so that it doesn't fly away?

Might need to start using headphones to play games, the bitfenix case gets pretty noisy since it has 2x 230mm fans inside as well as the smaller ones i have.

Would taking the side off my case make a difference or would that just mess with the airflow too much.

You get use to the sound. I've gotten so use to mine that when my pc is off it feels like something is missing :\
