I have macbook air operating OS X 10.9 (13A603) )with 2.13 core 2 duo memmory 4GB 1.067Ghz nvidia geforce 320m 256 MB and vmware fussion 6. when i dont run vmware my memory status is as:
Physical memory: 4GB
Memory used: 3.40 GB
Virtual memory: 4GB
Swap used: 0
App memory: 1.02 GB
File Cache: 1.57 GB
Wired memory 566.4
Compressed: 0

but as soon as i run windows on vmware my wired memory increase above 1GB and my total physical memory goes about 3.97GB and then increasingly to 4.00GB and then my macbook resets, whereas rest all stays the same.
If thats the problem of memory increased then how to disable the programs which dont need any important functionality to increase the available memory so that my available memory doesnt exceeds 4.00GB.

Please help me out.

Usually when you run out of memory, your computer gets incredibly slow because it starts writing the memory that is not in use to the hard drive, but it should not turn off the macbook.

In the App Store you can find an app called Memory Cleaner which removes unnecessary stuff from your memory. But this is just a temporary help.

Also I had a 2009 MacBook Pro and VMWare drove my CPU temperature so high that my MacBook turned off to prevent itself from damaging the CPU. Whats your CPU temperature when running WMWare?
