So one of my slave partions ended up dying on me last night.
I was able to see the drive visible in windows when i booted into safe mode but could not access the contents of the drive and windows wouldnt boot up normally with the drive plugged in.

Is it possible for me to recover my files off this drive?
If so, what can i use to get the best recovery?!

Any help would be much appreciated thanks!

Sorry about the delay, i had to save up some cash to pick up a 2nd drive.

So one of my co workers suggested i use Ubuntu so i loaded up a USB booter and it could see the 2 500GB partitions of the 1TB drive that crashed but i kept getting the following error:

Unable to mount exit code 12

I also tried running : sudo ntfsfix /dev/sda2

and it kept telling me something about NTFS volume is missing and suggested using chkdsk which kinda led no where. A lo tof the linux stuff is still pretty foreign to me.

Is there any hope in me recovering my drive?
I cant boot up windows because my computer hangs waiting for the crashed drive.
so im pretty much forced to use ubuntu unless i pull the crashed drive out.

Does this partition wizard let me recover files from a crashed partition / drive?
it looks like something used for partitioning drive space.
I'm fairly good with windows, but im trying to recover my crashed drive, hence why i'm using ubuntu since a crashed drive doesnt stop it from loading.

I simply would like to read the contents of the drive to a new drive that i've purchase and recover some if not all of the media.
