I want real, valid data.

I need a gaming GPU with power! Not too much noise, and good temps.

Best performance: GTX 770. I would go for the EVGA GTX 770 with ACX Cooler.

Best price/performance: R9 280X. I would go with a Gigabyte or Sapphire.

The GTX 770 is only slightly faster (approx. +/-5%). So the R9 280X would be the better buy in terms of what you get for the money you spent.

BUT! If the three free games that the HD 7970 comes with in its AMD Never Settle FOREVER bundle appeals to you, then I would buy the HD 7970 instead. Because buying each of those three games by itself along with either the GTX 770 or R9 280X would put both cards in a worse price/performance compared to the HD 7970.

I agree with ksham. 280X is the best one as far as price to performance ratio.

*Note* I'm not 100% SET on the "HIS" or "Gigabyte", they were just references to show the different cards.

Games aren't too big a deal... I've got plenty of favorites, and the only titles I'm looking into purchasing are BF4 and AC Black flag. Anything else I wanna grab, i'll hit during the Steam holiday sales.
