Curios how 2 R9 290 could handle a 3 monitor setup of 1440p.

I intend to get one such monitor now and get 2 more down the road.

problem is i can't decide on the video card. i know 1 r9 290 can handle one such monitor but not sure how 2 handle 3 such monitors.

If 2 of these would be able to handle these to at least med-high settings i might go with an r9 280x and sell it once the next generation comes around

I think two 290s would do a good job for the price. You could go with the 290x but not sure if the extra cost is worth the money, they come pretty close to one another at the high resolutions.

Might want to double check on the 290 in crossfire with multi monitors, I believe I read somewhere that they don't have the frame pacing issues with the 290 and 290x because the hardware is different and it all works like it should, but best to check before buying.
