Newly built WIN 2003 server, twenty+ services fail to start, but can be started manually with no issues. This started after installing WSUS SP 2 - any ideas?

Event viewer tells you what the problem is.

Nope, Have checked all the event logs and absolutely nothing shows up, that is what's bugging me. These automatic services fail (20+), but you can fire them up manually. I have never seen this in the last 14 years, I'm not happy about having to rebuild this server from scratch, rats.

But thanks for the pointer.

So the system doesn't even try to start the services? Maybe you got a selective startup configured somehow?
