I was thinking of selling my R9-280x Dual X to get the Toxic version do you think its worth it or its just a waste of money? I was planning of also getting the new R9-290 but my budget can only get me the reference model...what do you think guys is the best option for me....thanks for the time reading! BTW i only game at 1080p single monitor also I would like to ask if AC4 isnt the fully optimized on the PC?

If you have already got the R9 280x and opened the box then the value will have dropped dramatically, so there is no point selling it off and buying the SAME exact card just with a better cooler. Just keep the 280x you already have and if you are having heat problems then just get this aftermarket GPU cooler...

It is good, but there isn't a massive performance difference to the 280x. The 290 also has big overheating problems as well. There will be no point upgrading to a 290. Only upgrade that will be worth it will be the 290x.
