Hello:

I recently bought the GTX 760. After replacing it, the start up freezes at the BIOS entry-screen for about 5 mins. I reinstalled all the drivers for the 760, but it freezes every time I turn my computer on. After the BIOS screen, everything works fine. BIOS-entry screen takes way longer than it used to, and I can't access BIOS when I have 760.

When I changed it back to the old video card Asus GTX 560, it didn't freeze or anything. It worked fine.

I don't know if there is problem with the video card or my computer. Help me find a solution, please!

Specs:
New Video Card: Evga GTX 760 2GB Dual Superclocked
Old Video Card: Asus ENGTX 560 1GB
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-Z77MX-D3H LGA
I5-3550
OCZ ModXStream Pro 700W 12V
9Gb RAM
Windows 7-64bit

If you try my method make sure you have the old graphics card in there. Click the third option in Device Driver Uninstaller. It says "Uninstall the current and previous drivers and shutdown the computer with no rescan." When it is done and the computer is shutdown install the new GPU, boot it up then install the drivers using the "clean install" option. Good luck!

I did as instructed, but it still takes about 2 minutes at the BIOS screen. I used the application that lostmenoggin told me and reinstalled the drivers, but it doesn't immediately boot up. I have no idea what the problem is..

If the GPU can take a 6 and an 8 then that is what you should use. You may need to flash an updated BIOS for your motherboard. I would check to see if there are any new BIOS updates and if so Install it.

Did this work? I am having the identical issue with my EVGA 4gb gtx760. It only works on the pci-e x4 slot and none of the others on my sabertooth 990 2.0 mobo. I know all the slots work as I have tested with my old card. If I install the gtx760 on the main pci-e slots it freezes at the bios on bootup. I have flashed the BIOS with the most up-to-date version from the ASUS website. really odd.

Cheers,
scott.

Had the same problem with Windows 7 on the Cupertino2 mobo and GTX 760.

Fond a solution by accident. I dont know whether step 1 or 2 are essintial, but since I had performed them before they are included here:

1: Upgrade the HP bios from v7.14 to v7.16. I have done it with no GPU in the PCIe slot. Used the mobos VGA connector for the screen.
2: Delete all Nvidia files and drivers incl. registry.
3: Build in the GTX760. Make sure both the 8 and the 6 connectors cable from the PSU (600W) is connected to the graphic card.
4: Switch on the PC. As soon as the Bios screen is coming up press F12
5: New black screen with white letters and some information on configuration. At the lower right side it should show "Network Boot".
6: Wait 1 minute. There come 2 beeps with about 1/2 minutes interval.
7: Some 15 seconds after the second beep press "ESC" and keep on pressing. After some seconds some rapid cracking sound from the PC. Dont let it disturb you. Keep on pressing "ESC".
8: After the third beep the screen gets black and a white cursor blinking on the upper left. But: Keep on pressing "ESC" with no interruption.
9: After some seconds again a new screen appears with some information in DOS style. Here you can stop pressing "ESC".
10: Again black screen a few seconds, and then: Voila! Windows 7 is starting.

I dont know why its working, but it does for me. No new mobo needed :)

Ok so i was using my onboard graphics on my GA-z77mx-d3h then i installed my GA-Gtx 760 oc 4gb after installed i got frozen splash screen 4 about 3-4 minutes and couldnt access the bios and if i pressed the delete button like crazy it would just enter a black screen not booting into windows. Took my card back to centrecom they tested it and said it was fine and told me to update the bios but not to use the beta update cause they r in testing mode. Well i updated the latest bios that wasnt a beta and no show so i thought stuff i'll do the beta and see what happens. Well the beta got it all working fine can boot into bios splash screen only stays on 4 a few secs. Im not sure what to think about the beta bios update but it worked for me :) hope this works for u peeps
