Recommendations for Gaming PC Headset

I recently purchased my first gaming PC. I have always played online with xbox and such so I have headphones for those, but not for a PC. I have used both turtlebeach style and basic xbox style and tend to prefer comfortable and basic (I have a great surround sound system that I like to listen to so I prefer only voice from my headset). I would love a headset that could clearly pick up my voice while not picking up the surround sound (if that is even possible :))

What is your best suggestion?!?

I think that if you want to be able to transmit your voice nicely and have decent sound, get a decent pair of headphones and a modmic. It basically makes a headset out of any old pair of headphones you have knocking about.

You won't be able to get rid of the sound from your speakers with a microphone, unless it's a constant drone which could be picked up by noise-cancelling.

i'm not so sure about that andy... i use a mic with my ps3 sitting on the desk right in front of my speakers and i dont have a problem!

if you adjust the sensitivity and have it away from the speakers (like a clip on would be) it should per more than fine.

edit: in any case the op said they had a nice surround system... so buying a nice pair of headphones is redundant

Sorry guys, I really should have been more specific but I was rushed earlier. I am playing the PC on my living room TV so I would love something that would be wireless. Also, I don't just want a mic because I don't want to here people speaking through the speakers, only the game. Also, I would prefer a one ear headset. I love the feel of having someone speaking directly into my ear, I guess it is a bit of an immersion thing like having a radio in your ear..
