Hello all,

I've been saving my pennies and am ready to upgrade from a 5800 rpm 2tb hdd to a 1tb ssd. However, I lost my ASUS motherboard driver disk.
I went to the website and am a bit concerned as I can't recall what I need to install.

http://www.asus.com/ROG_ROG/MAXIMUS_IV_EXTREMEZ/#suppor...

Under Drivers and Tools, selecting Windows 7 as a OS, what items do I need to download? I'm concerned by the number of them as I'm uncertain if there is an install order or not.

Please help and give my dumb ass advice :)

There is no specific install order.

Things you'll need for sure...

Chipset,audio,vga,lan,usb,sata,bluetooth.

I would do chipset first as it makes most things run faster.

you should not need anything.... The OS will do most of it.

Are you cloning down to the 1 TB or just loading the OS fresh?

Is the Bios set to AHCI?

If getting driver from MOBo mfg, always get newest...

Before you do a clean install, make sure that inside the bios, that you've set the hard drive controller to use AHCI instead of IDE mode.

Also, the first drivers to load once Windows is installed are the chipset drivers and the ME drivers (they are both in the same section, but install the chipset one first.)
