I've finally decided its time for me to build my own gaming rig. Here's 2 rigs I came up with.

Any one have any suggestions for what i could or should add and/or change?

I'm trying to get max performance for a decent price for at least a year or two. I picked the 780 because if I need to I can grab a second for SLI. The r9 290 is awesome, but the custom cooler will make it hard to crossfire later on. I'm also planning on overclocking this rig a bit. I'm new to overclocking so I'm not going overboard.

Solution
For overclocking purposes only, I would go with the R9 290 instead of the GTX 780. But the Nvidia GTX 780 already has a lot of power as it is compared to the R9 290, plus the SLI will be simpler.
Overall, I'd say it boils down to what you wan to do more, Overclocking or SLI. If you want to do Overclocking with more ease, then get the R9 290. If you want to do SLI with more ease, than go with the GTX 780.
Hope this helps!

Well I guess I'd pick the 780 then, because i have to buy an aftermarket cooler for the r9 290. What about the rest of my rig? Is everything balanced for the card/cards I want? Will it run everything for a couple years? Is it overkill? Thanks for answering me, but i have more questions! Feed me answers pl0x

Alright. I personally think that the 780 is the better choice too. All your cards and everything are a really well balanced, and this will definitely last you quite a few. And yes, this is overkill, but overkill is what's gonna make this computer last.
My only other recommendation to you is to add a 1TB HDD for extra storage, because that 256GB SSD is gonna fill fast.
So other than that, I'd say it's epic.
Enjoy the games!
