Both have windows 8 but one is a Toshiba satellite and the other is an HP will it work? I also have a HP laptop which has XP and a Dell Latitude I am not that computer savvy but have used the laptops with tablets and other devices I plan on getting the monitor just want to know if it would work Thanks

Most laptops will not allow you to input a video source from another computer, so in all likelihood you'll need to wait until you get your monitor.
