My tech told me that the PCIe wireless card is what I need to fit on my new motherboard for my system upgrade.

My upgrade components are:
ASUS MAXIMUS VI HERO LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
Intel Core i7-4770 Haswell 3.4GHz LGA 1150 84W Quad-Core

Would appreciate input for which card to get. I cannot seem to find the PCIe version and the Asus one appears to have issues.

For PCI might look at the

I prefer the USB adapters like the Asus:

I'm not a fan of antennas sticking out the rear, see too many rigs with the PSU, monitor, speakers, etc power cords back there that can interfere with reception

He was specific about it being the PCI"e" card. I have no problem with the antenna out the back. My current one has that and I've never had any issues with it.

After reading the reviews on NewEgg from those links you provided, it appears that the cards from Edimax and Asus have some issues with them.

The EdiMax is indeed a PCI-E (Express) card and as with all wireless products there will be issues for many...I simply offered options I know when set up correctly work well ;)
