Acer Aspire turns off no warning and no log

My Acer Aspire will randomly shut off and its like a hard shutdown as if i held down the power button.

I can turn it on and maybe have 30 minutes before it turns off, I do not believe it is heat related as I can immediately turn it back on.

I recently had to get my motherboard replaced but they got one that uses onboard intel graphics instead of my nvidia card. I dont know if this might be causing the problem because maybe its not compatible with something. (they are getting one that is supposed to work right)

I have checked the event logs and there is nothing at the time of it turning off, just normal logs and then a log of when I turn it back on plus one that says last shutdown was unexpected. I don't know what to really look for.

Any ideas?

edit: oh and thought I'd mention that when I start up instead of saying Acer like it should it says Gateway... I'm guessing its cause of this new motherboard, no idea though.

Hi there,

The random shutdowns could be either related to your ram or the Power Supply

First take the memory out and re-insert it into the dims on the motherboard, then see if the issue still persists

If the issue still persists then we can rule the ram out for now and it is most likely a failing Power Supply, random shutdowns without notice are usually because of a failing power supply

Do you hear any weird noises coming from your Power Supply?
