Hey, I have a Pavillion p6604Y desktop. As everyone knows, Radeon 4200's are complete junk when it comes to gaming (or doing anything for that matter) so I'm looking at an upgrade.

I haven't ever installed (or upgraded, rather) a GPU before, but I have had good experiences with Nvidia's 9800 series cards in the past. Yes, it's a rather old card, but I'm nowhere near a hardcore gamer. On my Gateway p-7805u laptop, with an upgraded CPU ( it has a 9800GTS) I squeeze around 25-30 FPS out of GTA IV.

I'm also a tightwad when it comes to upgrading computers, and these cards can be had for less than $50 most of the time.

Now to the question. I plan on buying a 9800gt or gtx. Will the card plug into this motherboard, and is it compatible? All of the cards I've seen have just been cards with no cables. Do they require any, or are they just plug in and go? Is there anything else I will need besides a heftier PSU?

Thanks!

Specs:

Hp Pavillion p6604Y
12gb ram
1tb hdd
2.8 Athlon x2
Windows 7 x64

I went ahead and bought a 9800GTX+. Does anyone know about the psu requirements or the connectors required to wire it up? Thanks!
