I remember reading one afternoon while searching the internets a few years back that a guy had managed to not only fit the entire inner workings, as well as a screen keyboard, and mouse of a PC into a rucksack, but also have it work from within the rucksack. I think the concept is worth at least stabbing at.
The questions about this:
Is it possible?
Is it SAFE for the PC?
More importantly, would it be efficient for work that is too stressful for a laptop, but is impossible to carry around a desktop computer for? (SUCH as heavy duty mobile gaming)

Solution
yes, it can be done, but this is why we have gaming laptops.

You'd need to supply power from somewhere, and draining your car battery will do you little good. You might get by on a 300w system, but it's still very power hungry comparably.

The monitor would need to be compacted, so in order to be able to take off the stand, it needs to be wall mountable.

The keyboard and mouse would best be a wireless keyboard/touchpad.

You would have to use a water cooler for the cpu because its weight rests on the case, and a lot of movement with an air cooler will strain the motherboard, where it gets its support.

The case would be a small one, so it would only have one gpu, which is fine. If you happen to put one together, make sure that the...

The backpack would probably be more of a suitcase, and would have to be modded to have air in and air out.

Depending on your setup, you should be able to pack a desktop in and have a quick setup and break down while still requiring a power outlet.

Yes, it CAN be done, but the time and effort in a $2000 mobile desktop is usually considered a lesser option to a gaming laptop.

If you have plenty of spare time and want to show off a cool and unique accomplishment to your gaming friends, this is one way to do it.

here's a basic starting build that will kill any laptop: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/26FTK

I'd add a few case fans and filters to the build to add to your modded durable container. the filters should be there to keep a clean look on the outside.

I wouldn't do it myself because I have a busy schedule and don't have the spending money, but I'd certainly like to see it done.
