GPU not Posting?

I have had a EVGA 670FTW 2GB since 12/26/2012. I updated the drivers and all of a sudden my driver kept failing and I kept getting black screens and freezes. So I tried multiple things such as using different pin connectors, using a different PCI-E 16x, downgraded drivers back to before the issues. Still no avail. Then my graphics card stopped posting so I used the onboard graphics DVI to see my computer and it posted and worked in windows. I open up Device Manager and it shows Standerd VGA graphics adapter and my 670 FTW and showed that both were working fine. So out of frustration I reinstalled Windows. Still nothing and not posting, and still showing up as a VGA adapter and my 670. I am still under warrenty so I may RMA it under warrenty, but I want to make sure thats it the graphics card before I send it off.

Any suggestions?

check to se if the gpu fan is dust bound. if the pc clean of dust use msi afterburner try turning up the fan speed to see if the gpu is over heating. also run memtest on your system ram.
if you have an intel motherboard make sure the bios is up to date. under primany display if it set to auto the intel gpu can become the first video output., try changing it to peg/pci. also power off your pc drain power from the mb. clear the cmos and reseat the gpu and check the 8 pin pci power plug. on the gpu look for any burn marks.

So I did what you said and got my computer to run through my graphics card, but the freezing issue still persists, and when I play any kind of game its drivers fail still. Although the black screens have gone away.
