I have been trying to figure out over the last month why my computer has been making these noises. My computer will boot fine without any problems or errors, then randomly while my computer is running, it will make a "knuckle popping" sound once then again a few seconds later. It's not a consistent noise it will just randomly occur and disappear. I ran chkdsk on my drive with windows and it fixed a volume bitmap error, not sure what that was or if it caused the noise.
