Save data from dead computer

I have two old macs, an iBook G4 and a Macbook pro that have died. There are photos etc. that I would like to access. Can I put the drives in an enclosure and access everything? If so, what would be a good enclosure to use?

Well, it depends on what went dead. The easiest thing to do, without spending any money, is to hook them up inside another MAC via and extra SATA data cable and power cable to see if they are readable.
