Latency/Timing Q - G.Skill Ares 2400 vs 1866

When looking at these two G.Skill Ares 8GB (2x4) DDR3:

I want to get the 2400 obviously but the timing and voltage on it is higher than the 1866. Which (of these two only) is a better buy when price is not a factor? Thanks

The 2400 sticks, the higher freq gives you greater memory bandwidth and that bandwidth will slightly overcome the the lower CL of the 1866 set, you'd see a bigger jump with a 2400/10 set, like the GSkill Tridents

The ares 2400 ares will outperform the snipers in that situation they are the same CL, but the ares are faster. which means if you downclocked them they might could have even lower timings. You'll be happy with any of those kits. its all about what you want out of it and what you want to spend on it.

With stock timings the Ares 1866/9 will give slightly better performance than the 2133/11 Snipers and the Ares 2400/11 will also give better performance
