need an 8pin for 12v only have 4pin would it work?

So my Power Supply only has 4pin 12v plug for my motherboard but it requires an 8pin I plugged it In it only fits one way and when i boot the system the motherboard gives me one loooooooooooooong beep thats it. fans go lights are lighting things are going, but nothing on screen. I just bought a graphic card so i know its not the VGA. I have a p5n-T Deluxe 775pin. Thanks so much just tell me what other info you would like to know :)

Awesome I'll look into a better PSU its only 350W anyways would like a 500-600 watt eventually. so as long as its working I thought the Long beep might be CPU related not having enough power but i guess not onto next question :p thanks guys
