So i installed a new m5a97 r2.0 motherboard on a fresh windows 8.1 and I have no sound. It doesn't detect anything in device manager other than AMD high definition device.
Ive installed the drivers that came with the CD, the latest drivers off the Asus website, and off the Realtek website to no avail. When i right-click the sound icon on my taskbar and go to playback devices I only see the AMD High Def device which is actually my monitor. I also see 5 other ones that are the same but say unplugged.
I also tried uninstalling the AMD HDD through device manager and running the latest drivers on windows 7 compatibility mode and still nothing.
Theres 6 jacks on the back of my case and im connected on the green one. I also checked my bios to see if the audio is enabled and it is.
