I recently picked up this computer, and I'm looking to upgrade the gpu. I found this Radeon 7870 but I'm not sure if it will work, or if it's the best bang for my buck. I know I'll need a new psu, but I want to make sure everything will work before I buy it.

Thanks for any help!

it would be compatible with the mother board as it has a PCIe3.0 slot. You might get away with the current PSU. 7870 is good value, as you go up in performance, the performance/dollar generally drops.

Max $200 CAD for the gpu, and probably $50-$60 for the psu. I was looking at this one.

Here you go:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

Video Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 3GB Video Card ($170.66 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: XFX 550W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($55.98 @ Newegg)
Total: $226.64
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)
