Hi there.

I have four RAM Slots available on my MB (Asus Crosshair Formula IV)

Currently I have (All G-Skill 1600 - Same timings):
2Gig
2Gig
4Gig
Last one is open

My questions:
1. Would filling the last slot improve my memory performance?
2. My RAM timings are exactly the same (Using G-Skill) - however should I "restart" and get exact same modules for all slots? - Would this make a difference which I would actually see?
3. Would I see a difference if I change the RAM to DDR2000? - One or two FPS doesn't count.

Please note that my PC is used solely for gaming. So running multiple apps at once is not an issue for me.

Thank You

My best suggestion for you as a pure gaming rig, would be buy another 4 gig stick that matches the 4 gig one you have, take out and sell the 2 gig sticks, and put the 4 gig sticks in slots 1 and 3 or 2 and 4, (your memory is running in single channel mode right now). This will be a bit faster, and definatly more stable.

even if you don't want to get rid of the 2 gb sticks... put them in there 4/2/4/2 where the 4 and 2 gb sticks are in the same colored slots, not next to eachother.
