I have ADATA HD710 External hard drive , for past few months it was working . Suddenly it has stopped being recognized in win7 and mac . other part being the led is lit . I have tried in disk manager also but it is not shown there as well .. Any way out would be much appreciated thanks ..

Have you tried a different cable? Can you take the HD out of the enclosure and install it inside the case ( if it's a desktop ) just to see if the HD is working. If your computer is a laptop you will have to get another enclosure to try it in or try it on another computer. Perhaps there is something wrong with the ext. enclosure's connectors.

Go to device manager in control panel and find the ports, if there are any errors, update the latest driver.

Thanks for your response , the HD has company fitted outer case , if removed will void warranty . I had also spoken to the service center for ADATA there they only replace the HD . I have lot of data inside it can retrive it by any method / software .. thanks again
