Choosing a monitor is a bigger headache than the entire computer

Solution
60hz is the general standard for monitors. I dont understand what you mean by if it will last with the latest games? Also 120hz on a monitor is an issue because your graphics card combined with a good CPU needs to put out 120fps consistently if you plan on enabling vsync or running in 3D mode. And if you plan to run ultra settings then some games like battlefield 4 etc might be a problem if running higher than 1080p
