Suggest a "good" (aesthetically speaking) CPU air cooler for my build?

Good day I want to ask if you know of ANY CPU aircooler(brand/price doesn't matter) that is "good" (aesthetically speaking, if it lights up better) but having a nice balance of performance (cooling capabilities... I might overclock the CPU in the future between the ranges of 4.2Ghz-4.6Ghz) would be REALLY nice

the Noctua DH-14 is highly praised but I'm not sure aesthetically though :(
also found reviews on a be quiet dark rock pro 2 CPU air cooler but I don't know about its capabilities :/

any suggestion would be nice...

ohh and I forgot my motherboard is an MSI MPOWER MAX with corsair vengeance rams (I'm told they qualify as high profile sticks?) an intel core I5 4670k and a corsair carbide 300R (windows version...

Solution

I would just peel the heatsinks off. They are only applied with double sided tape. They aren't really needed anyway. Good CPU cooling is much more important to me at least.

I had a looked at those too a few weeks ago but not too impressed :( any other suggestions???

how about zalman's CPU air cooler?
http://www.zalman.co.kr/eng/product/Product_Read.php?Idx=607

how about the ones found on www.pcpartpicker.com when I am sample building a PC? are those accurately checked for compatibility? If so it'll save a lot of trouble for all of us :)

oh forgot my CPU its a socket 1150 i5 4670K intel processor...
and I saw this while I was looking up the enermax vegas duo (what a light show for a fan... not sure about its cooling capabilities though)
imma have another close look at this again but I really wish it would have the cooling capabilities of the NH-D14 or at least somewhat near it though :(

I don't see the part where you get to pick the "colors" maybe its not LED lights but the actual fins that is colored?

http://phanteks.com/PH-TC14PE.html

if so maybe its this (with a LED fan/s) vs the zalman one I posted?

and I read just now that it is also on par with the NH-DH14 in terms of size...

Yeah, with the Phanteks solutions, you don't pick LED colors, it is the colors of the fans, and the anodization of the aluminum fins. Depending on how many RAM sticks you have, such a large cooler might be bad-news-bears. The little brother, the Phanteks PH-TC12DX is still good, though, and should not interrupt DIMM slots.

The Zalman CNPS11X Extreme may be worth considering, if you have all four DIMM slots filled.

Just go to the Phanteks link that you posted and click on the "Specs." to see all of the color choices.

about the phantek's I think its actually nice but another problem arises in the form of comapatiblity and also looking for a good looking fan that has good cfm and runs it silently/barely noticeable levels... and oh I didn't fill all the four dimm slots just two since its a dual channel... and I also think the zalman fan you suggested is also good...

oh I saw it and I'm kind of amazed because of the color you can choose for the fins if I do choose this fan the problem that would arise I think is what kind of fans that has good static pressure will I use this with???

if I could use Enermax's Vegas Duo I think we have a clear winner :)

According to the specs: http://www.enermax.com/home.php?fn=eng/product_a1_1_2&lv0=4&lv1=39&no=128
The Vegas Duo has 0.971 - 2.030 mm H2O static pressure so that "should" work. Unfortunately they don't list the noise level at full speed though.

Enermax Vegas Duo fans are not loud at full tilt, and while more towards the quiet side, they are slightly invasive. Cougar Dual-X fans might be a better choice, especially since you won't have to worry about a manual control knob to control the fan speed.

had a looked with what you posted and some of them are kind of "old" but some also were looking good ;)

I think imma go with a white or black version of the
Phanteks PH-TC14PE CPU Cooler
but the question now becomes if it compatible with a socket 1150 core I5 4670k?
along with the corsair vengeance ram sticks (2 sticks) since many warn that the likes of the corsair dominator platinum aren't a good fit with this cooler :(
here are some pics but due to some poor insight I didn't took pictures without the side panel :(

so basically its kind of a "barely" capable if I use it to cool the heatsink? and about the cougar fans you mean the CFD ones (the ones with the LED)?

any other suggestions since the Phantek's PH-TC14PE is said to NOT useable/feasible for my build since I bought corsair vengeance rams (high profile problem goddamit kind of regretting buying this sticks) now I wanna sad corner cry since I was pretty much decided a few days ago to buy their CPU air cooler (since it also got pretty good reviews in terms of acoustics and cooling capabilities)

this is like trying to pleas a kid in a lolly shop I don't think it is going to mater what you guys suggest he is going to find a fault in every thing what he needs to do is go to a computer swap meet and then he can brows for owes and wast here time

thanks for the response so what will happen if RAM runs in a single channel config? will that render the other stick "useless"?

or is it just like a bottleneck (ex.a 256bit vs 384bit in GPUs)?

and also can I also install it vertically (since the one in the video was installed in horizontal)...

When running in single channel mode, the computer still utilizes the full amount of RAM installed, but there is a 10% - 15% performance hit as compared to dual channel, so I guess that you could consider it a slight bottleneck.

I don't know if that particular cooler can be rotated to different orientations but I suspect that it can. You might check to see if you can download the installation instructions from their website. That should tell you for sure. I know that my Noctua can be installed either way.
