Hey! I've been browsing your site for the most info I can get on graphics cards...

I've been trying to finalize the purchase of my first graphics card, and due to the large number of models and sellers, I, being a noob for the GPU world, am a bit lost...

My current PC config is:
Mobo: Digilite H61-MX EL
CPU: Intel Core i3-2100 @ 3.1GHz
Memory: 6GB (4GB + 2GB) DDR3
HDD; 500GB ATA
Screen: 1366x768

I DON'T CARE for higher resolution and AA.

what I need is fps at least nearing 60 for games like COD MW3, BF3, Assassin's Creed 1,2,3,4, etc.

My budget is around INR 3.5k - 4k.

will GT610/620/630 give me 60fps with no AA and no Anisotropic filtering required, and at 1366x768 res?

Solution

Thanx...

It can keep an average frame of 50fps

That screen size... is that a laptop??

Whats the refresh rate on the screen?? 50hz / 60hz / 75hz /120hz

Have you tried hooking up a bigger screen just to test??

It's 18.5" Dell monitor...:)

refresh rate is 60Hz

And no, I've never used a bigger screen, although I'm gonna try on my TV via HDMI. That one is 1920x1080.

GT610/620/630 will not be any good with those games. GT610 and 620 are 64bit cards they are not for gaming. GT 630 has slow DDR3 memory. You will be wasting money, I had GT 610 long back and replaced it with HD 7770. Go by what Novuake said.. get an HD7750 atleast.

The reason i ask is: bizarre as it sounds .. when i play bf4 .. i thought ok drop the res should boost the fps .. i actually noticed it made it worse .. not sure if your tv will help matters .. whats the max res of your monitor?

your asking what gfx card i know you said a few nvidia cards there .. but when i was running just one Sapphire HD 7850 i could get 60fps and that was on auto settings so it turned on that AA and filtering stuff .. i turn though off and was hitting 70+ on avg was around 64fps on really intesive maps and when there was a big explosion .. never really dropped below that

60hz is good .. sometimes though that resolution wont run at 60hz so i think your issue its actually 1366x768 @ 50hz .. the tv might help because it will 1920x1080 @ 60hz assuming its a HD television..

I dont think you'll hit 60fps .. even on low setting I'd imagine you will only get 45 maybe 50 .. I would recommend maybe trying to get a gtx 650 Ti if you can it should get you up to the 60fps

well if he wants to be able to play bf3, mw3 and the AC games .. yeah .. you go buy a a card on his budget and see if you can play those games .. because i had one .. a 5450 similar to a 610 could play much .. and btw its advice we are giving.. and my advice is that if the OP wants to play BF3 and alike at 60FPS .. GT 610 will not cut it

yes I agree GT 610 wont work, if you follow the thread, that offcourse before commenting anything, i'm not encouraging him to buy it.... but surely HD7750 or HD7770 will work in medium-high settings... these cards are 3000 - 4000 more.. you are suggesting a card which is 15k or so more than his budget. I have a HD7770 and it works for these games. Maybe they are not ultimate but they do the job .. in medium-high and low resolution

I don't know how you get Medium to High settings off a HD 7770 but fair play. My opinion! My advice! You opinion! Your advice! Stop arguing with me, the reason and basis for a forum or thread is so someone such as the OP may ask the community for help, support and advice. That is exactly what we the posters then give. The OP then takes that information and takes the general idea or notion of all posters to make a final decision it is not a place where you argue with other posters. That is trolling!

For your information I have followed the thread and that's of course before commenting anything.

Get a GT 610/620/630 but kline_tapp your question was

"will GT610/620/630 give me 60fps with no AA and no Anisotropic filtering required, and at 1366x768 res?"

My answer is "No, save your money for longer and buy something better."
