Hi. The button that gives you the option to shutdown, restart, hibernate etc recently disappeared from the Start Menu. I don't know how to shut down the computer now or how to get that button back. I've googled it, but no one seem to have the same Shutdown issue.

I have a Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.

This thread can be deleted/closed. I managed to restart the computer through Ctrl+Alt+Delete and the shutdown option is there now again in the Start menu.

However, this isn't the first time the Start menu is acting strong. 3-4 days ago, it was the application shortcuts that had disappeared, only to reappear when I restarted the computer.

This used to be a good indication of overheating issues or limited hardware resources such as low RAM or high CPU usage by a service or application.

Do you have enough memory, free disk space?
It's worth running some diagnostics on both of those and have a check of the Task Manager performance tab.
