Hi, think about upgrading my memory, but need help on what to chose.
My motherboard is a gigabyte X79-ud3 and CPU i I7 3930k.
thinking about getting
Kingston HyperX Beast DDR3-2400 QC 16GB (4x4), on kingston homepage it says that it support X79 and on gigabyte it say the motherboard support DDR3-2400.
But what about my CPU?, know there are something about intel CPU not official support more than 1600.
Hope you can help.

I have came CPU , same mobo. I have corsair vengerange 1600MHz
1.5V 1600MHz memory 8 + 4GB and Gskill 2GB 2
I did take two sticks from my old build. And they work just fine.
I did OC then to 1866MHz. (all)

Best is use four same sticks with X-79 mobo.
Id look G.skill 1600 or 1866 low Cl memory. Cl 9 is good enough.

One cheap option may be Crucial Sport 1600MHz.

Just buy two kits.

Or if you need more 2*8GB sticks.

2400MHz do not give you much more speed. Hope this helps :)

If you dnon't overclock your i7-3930k buy 1600mhz RAM with XMP profile.
The XMP profile means they are compatable with the intel turbo feature (when the processor auto adjusts it's clock speed), Intel chips do not see a significant performance increase with high clock speed RAM. You are better with 1600mhz and a low latency < cas9.

Its not so much about the price on the memory, its pretty cheap, but more about if it compatible with my CPU and it can run with the 2400 mhz? or i need to set something up in the bios, but thx for the quick answer

Right now i dont overclock my CPU, but think about overclock it to about 4.2 - 4.6, have read, that the I7 3930k can run with that mhz, and run stable, got watercooler on the CPU, so the heat should not be a problem.
