I'm upgrading my CPU or my GPU in a couple of weeks and im getting really frustrated about which one will improve my gaming performance, I know the basics of what they do but i'm looking for gaming performance mostly. so here is my dilemma....

I have around £400($648.04) to spend

Current system:
CPU: Intel i5 2500K quad core @3.3GHz
GPU: GTX Asus 680

Considering buying:
i7 Haswell 4770K Quad Core @3.5GHz with Asus ROG Maximus VI HERO Intel Z87.....Price = £428.63

OR

GTX 780 = £410

NOTE!!!:

I like having everything on ultra and lowering the quality hurts lol
Overclocking is NOT being considered

I would buy the 780, and a CPU cooler and OC the 2500k (hell you spent extra money to get an unlocked processor, why do that then not consider OCing)

But if that is off the table, then I might would upgrade the CPU/MOBO

Best way to tell which will give you the most benefit, get a GPU monitoring program, and a CPU monitoring program, keep them both open, go game, and whichever hits 100% usage, needs the upgrade.
