is 650 watt enough for r9 290?

rig:
4670k(might upgrade to 4770k)
r9 290
1 hdd
matx mobo
8gb kingston hyperx
a soundcard

I will be using OCZ ZT Series 650W bronze,i'm going do alittle oc

Solution
Yup! I have two cards running on a 650w Bronze rated PSU absolutely fine. I've got enough power headroom for them to OC themselves to 1150Mhz and my CPU at 4.2Ghz.

My two cards draw over 300w together, with the 290 taking roughly between 250-300w.

+1, 650w will be just fine, even for overclocking and minor future upgrades (I would recommend against dual-GPU configs though, and even though it may work on 650w, it would be putting a load on the PSU a lot of the time, which is not particularly healthy for the longevity of the system. You would need closer to ~750w to do that comfortably with the 290).
