Alright, so I decided it would be a good idea to do a major upgrade on my pc. I added more ram, and replaced the cpu, motherboard, and graphics card.

You can find the complete list of parts in PC here, if you're interested in looking: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Will89310%40gmail.com/save...

All of the components I ordered work, except for the new graphics card. I've eliminated ever possible cause that I can think of. There's nothing wrong with the motherboard, since my old card worked fine when I tried it, and my power source is more than enough to power everything. I'm pretty sure there's nothing wrong with the card itself either, since it worked fine for the day-or-so I had it plugged into my old motherboard while I waited for the new one to arrive.

The only thing I haven't checked yet is the cable connecting the new card to my power supply. I haven't been able to actually thoroughly check whether or not the cable it came with works or not, as it was a bunch of 8-pin to 4-pin plugs, and I don't actually have the cord I'd need to plug those into my power source safely.

I used a different set of cables than the one it came with, but I doubt that's the source of the problem, since the cable I used worked just fine when the card was plugged into the old motherboard.

So I'm basically at the end of my rope, and out of ideas. Could I please get some help here?

Please update the BIOS to F5:
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=...

Use usb pendrive and Q-Flash, as described in manual, page 75.

EDIT:
And what's that nonsense about cables?
Use red 6+2 plug from your PSU and molex to 6pin adapter that came with 7950.

Alright, so I tried updating the BIOS, and it appears to have done nothing for the problem, as plugging the any cable into the back of the card still results in no response.

Can't use either windows (which wasn't working anyway at this point, either showing the windows logo breifly and bluescreening, or simply displaying a blank screen) or ubuntu anymore either, as flashing the BIOS killed GRUB for some reason, and re-installing GRUB by re-installing linux has no effect. Live USBs still work, however. I suspect that's irrelevant to the issue with the card, so I'll post a separate thread about it once this is resolved.

EDIT: GRUB works fine now. Windows, not so much.

As for the stuff with the cables, it sounds like I can just use the red 6+2 plug that came with my PSU, so that's what I've been doing.

Any other ideas? More assistance would be invaluable. I feel I may be in over my head here.
