will cpu affect games fps??

hey i have an intel core 2 duo 3.4ghz overcloacked processore and iam gonig to upgrad my gpu to gtx 660 so will the cpu affect my gaming performance ?? or it will run games on high fps like ac blackflag and bf4

Yes. The processor or CPU has the responsibility in processing all data. So if it's too slow to process those instructions, then it will definitely affect your gaming experience. At the same time, if the CPU is not fast enough to keep up with the GPU, then you have a bottleneck on the CPU side.
