I built this PC 3-4 months ago-
ATI Radeon 6670 GPU.
Intel dual core e7400 2.8 ghz proc.
500 gb hdd(200-300 gb full)
3 GB RAM.
200W PSU.

Now i booted my PC today. It booted flawlessly. After playing for some minutes,it suddenly became too slow.
Everything desktop,games,etc.

I started hearing loud fan movements from my cabinet.
I thought its a virus from a torrent.

Scanned my PC removed all viruses but problem still exists.

Then i checked my GPU and CPU temperatures. They were too much-

CPU-both cores 70 degree
GPU-68-70 degree
And GPU load was 98%-no application was running.

What is this sudden change in my PC??

I think that my PSU is not upto the mark.Correct me if I am wrong.

And are those temperatures normal??

What do i do???

[p.s.-sometimes (2-3 time now) Windows gives me error conhost.exe has stopped working then lag on the pc vanishes and fan sound also stops for some time. But continues after 5-10 mins.lagg also comes back.]

What is this error??

Solution
Then it's not solved, I see 3 possibilities:

1.- A trojan/virus taxing your CPU. (try scanning with MalwareBytes www.malwarebytes.org)

2.- Normal software function, problem lying on poor cooling (what was mentioned before, dust in the case, thermal paste worn out)

3.- A corrupted program/drivers causing CPU/GPU overload. (less likely, but if cooling gets fixed and there are no viruses this should be considered, would need to see results from task manager to review for some unusual activity)
If those temps are at idle then yes, they're too high, try cleaning out the dust in your case, if you've had this pc for 1,5 or more years it's likely that the CPU's thermal paste has worn out so it's time to apply a new one.

as for the GPU, if it's workload (not the fan load) was at 98% with no 3d apps running it would be a very strange virus indeed, maybe a game hang up causing load to still be up?

Finally a no brand 200w PSU.......... even if you get back to normal temps after cleaning the case/renewing thermal paste, you should get a better PSU, the one you have maybe working ok now, but with those PSUs you're running the chance that it could die anyday ruining the rest of your PC with it.

Also make sure your heatsinks are in actual contact, had this problem once where my heatsink was barely even touching my CPU and the fan went full blast in an effort to cool it and resulted in 100% CPU usage doing nothing.

Yes, it can although it shouldn't.

If a low quality PSU is not using high quality transformer and capacitors it can result in a bad watts to amps ratio, requiring that the components draw more power to get the amount of amperage it needs. More electrical draw = more heat.

Also, if the PSU is having to work harder to keep up with the system it can be putting hot air into the case.
