AMD Graphics card keeps crashing

Hi,

I've just got my custom PC from Dino PC and the PC screen constantly turns black and freezes for a while. I've updated the driver on the AMD website (R7 260x) : AMD Catalyst™ 13.11 Beta9.2 for Windows®​​ Is what it is. But the problem keeps on happening and its very annoying. The PC was also restarting often earlier ( and occasionally still does, but not as often as the screen going black) but windows performed some kind of recovery. I have windows 8.1 64 bit.

Does it only happen during games? Could be your CPU or GPU is overheating. Look at your CPU and Video Card temp (you can use HW Monitor). Run it as soon as you log to monitor the temps and post what the highest temps you are getting for both CPU and GPU (Video Card).

Hi, could you send me a link to HW Monitor please. It only seems to download imesh when i try...and no, im not playing any games at all. Sometimes when I download, sometimes when on youtube and sometimes randomly.

It seems like everyone who are using R7 260x have the same problem. I've been to some of Answer-requiring pages of R7 260x, they got many issues when using the card as well as me. I have decided to buy another GPU and replace R7 260x. Maybe wait for driver updates to see if AMD can solve those problems, otherwise, well, I'll stick back to Nvidia.

As CoolmanT said, many people running the R7 series are having similar issues. There should be a driver update before too long that fixes it, but if you are not keen to wait it out you may want to consider swapping for something else.

I have the same problem with (R7 260x) and I keep getting freeze and glitchy screens along as with the black screens all the time, at some random points it does restart itself for an unknown reason and I've been through GPU stress test and it worked just fine at 100%, no problems at all. When I keep doing general stuff like going through chrome and stuff like that it crashes! Can I have some background on this?
