Hello I am planning on getting a new video card, SSD, and another harddrive + 8 more gb's of memory and was wondering if I will need more wattage for these components.

CPU: AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8-Core Processor

MOTHERBOARD: ASRock 970 Extreme3 R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard

Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (Getting another set of these)

SSD: None yet getting (G.Skill Phoenix III 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk)

HARDDRIVE: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Planning on getting (Toshiba 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive)

GPU: Asus Radeon R9 280X 3GB Video Card

PSU: Rosewill Green 530W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply

Any recomendations would be nice :D!

The 280X needs a recommended 600w unit. Although it's just a rebranded 7970 I believe the max voltage has been increased.

You can get by with a quality 550w unit. A 530w Rosewill green......I would not try it. Rosewill sells some excellent units but the Green series is a budget line and not that great.

I saw this deal yesterday looking for someone else. Antec EA 650 Platinum for $69 after rebate. $69 for an 80 Plus Platinum certified power supply is a crazy good deal and the Antec is a very good unit.

It looks nice but shouldn't I get the 630w rather then the 530w? Also what will this do better then my other PSU because with my other there a 630w version to.

For a system using a single Radeon R9 280X graphics card AMD specifies a minimum of a 600 Watt or greater system power supply. The power supply should also have a maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 42 Amps or greater and have at least one 6-pin and one 8-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors.

Total Power Supply Wattage is NOT the crucial factor in power supply selection!!! Sufficient Total Combined Continuous Power/Current Available on the +12V Rail(s) rated at 45°C - 50°C ambient temperature, is the most critical factor.

Overclocking of the CPU and/or GPU(s) may require an additional increase to the maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current ratings, recommended above, to meet the increase in power required for the overclock. The additional amount required will depend on the magnitude of the overclock being attempted.

The Rosewill Green Series is essentially discontinued. I think there is only one model, the RG630-S12, still listed on Rosewill's web site.
