So as you read the title my CPU is making unbearable noise when playing games like Skyrim but not when i launch the game, it starts after about 10-20mins of playing it. If you think it's my CPU fan it's not it works normally and sounds normally. When i exit the game it stops making the noise. It's not the temperature it's normal under full load it's ~60 celsius, i have the stock AMD cooler and applied paste a few days ago.
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 940 3GHz
4GB ddr2 ram
hd4730 512mb gddr5
biostar ta790gxbe
550w ms industrial PSU
Thanks!

60C max, i've listened to it a lot of times, the source of the sound is nearest to the CPU

PSU is just fine i've never had problems with it, it may be a bit dusty but it's not the PSU

You have to in order for us to solve this.

Type of sound, and exactly where it comes from.

Could you start it up and just do a quick recording or something, if you have problems describing/locating the sound?

Here's a video record but note that my phone mic is bad that's why there's no audio at the end.

The video is private, you have to make it public

You're not playing to play, you're playing to stress and diagnose.

You mean to tell me that there is something touching my fan blades always after 10-20 minutes of playing a game?
And none of low-requirement games gives this kind of noise, only those who are with higher reqs. Also i get it from Bad Company 2, Battlefield 3 (i know i'm pushing it by playing on hd4730 but i just tried)

From your description, this seems to be heat/power related.
Only happens under major load. As in a fan spinning faster.

But to find out, you really need to pinpoint where the actual noise is coming from.

Hm.

Some thoughts

It seems like a high frequent sound. Notice how your cell phone microphone were unable to register the sound when getting up close and in certain angles.

Also, based on the assumption that it is a high frequency sound, I assume that this comes from high current (amperage). Now, the highest current flows in central processing units. Most central processing units can handle over 80A.

Now I need to have a look at your motherboard, which transforms 12V to 1,2V and in the process amplifies the input current by 10x times exactly. The VRMs (Voltage regulator Modules) do this, and since theey are handling so much electricity, they can make sound if something is wrong with them.

I need you to:

1. Give me your exact motherboard model name

2. Start a CPU stressing program to generate heat and then measure VRM temperatures after 15 min (Ask if you need help locating the VRMs)

there is could be also the fan itself since you ask more power from the gpu so it have so spin faster and goes out of ballance and touch the side of the frame ,the test option is to see if the sound will come up when you use the onboard that will tell if it is from the gpu or something else . also your gpu is nearly on the minimum requirements for the game so if you set game at max there could be a issue there . http://www.systemrequirements.in/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim.html

Yeah the problem could be as simple as this.

But he claims it comes from the CPU area, so I diagnose it from there.

Razerg, are you 110% sure it's from the CPU area?

It's okay it's probably my GPU although it sounds more like closer to my CPU.
I already gave my motherboard name on the top.

I have all min reqs, also recommended besides my GPU is not 1GB, but i always play on low even when i let it to auto detect, he puts it to high (sometimes ultra high)
