So guys, first of all i would to thank everyone who helped me the last two weeks.
So before i get my new rig i'm wondering will i see a huge FPS increase? i personally think my CPU is holding back my GPU

GPU GTX 760
CPU AMD Phenom II X4 945 3.0 ghz.

In CoD Black ops 2 i'm getting around 80~120 FPS. Which is fantastic!
But... in Call of duty ghost i'm often around 30-40(50max) FPS my CPU will spike to 100% when loading maps and stuff like teamspeak will stop working people can no longer understand me while i'm loading a map.

Battlefield 4 strangely runs better then cod (Talking about bad optimizations for pc?)
Anyways around the same fps 30-40 FPS on smaller maps. i can talk when i load, CPU rarely spikes to 100% but often is around 75-90%

My question is, will the I7-4770k Give me atleast a 20+ fps increase ? Seems like a long leap of faith but i would really hope so, consider nvidia says i can run BF4 smoothly on almost everything ultra. Yet now i'm running it on low with about 30-40 FPS i really think i should be able to run it around 60 FPS with settings on medium / high.

On a side note, my FPS will drop very low when levolution is in act (Map is being changed buildings and other stuff get destroyed and it really strains my CPU )

Thanks!

Regards, Darksin

CoD Ghosts runs like crap on everything, so discount that first of all.

The i7 would give you a huge FPS boost, far more than 20 just due to it's higher single-core performance and IPC. You'd be fine with an i5 4670k which has basically the same performance in games.

And yes, your CPU is currently bottlenecking that GPU. So the upgrade would be good. Remember to get a nice motherboard if you're getting a k series CPU!

Thank you for the quick reply!

Haha so i'm not the only one disappointed as hell with ghost?
And thats great news! And i think i'll just go for the I7 since i do wanna do some Video editing / streaming and its a little more future proof i believe.

But yeah, i'm going for a Asus Maximus VI Hero, that should be good enough right? For the time being i'll use the Stock cooler since every penny that i have will go into this new Mobo + CPU + RAM. And eventually i'll buy a sweet cooler to OC when needed :D

Yeah, very nice motherboard.

As for ghosts - people with GTX Titans in SLI can't play it at nice framerates. And then there are others with middlish rigs who can. I think that tells you all you need to know about those developers.

Enjoy the rig! You will be very happy with the performance.
