I have recently bought a desktop from CCL online, a very reliable business, a few days after I had set up the computer I had put in 2 more sticks of RAM, I couldn't say since then precisely but shortly after the ram was installed my mouse has been very unsteady and very hard to actually control. If you have any ideas on how i could deal with this please write back, I am not extremely experienced with computers so please elaborate.

It's always a good idea to run anti-malware/spyware software in a situation like this. It's unlikely that the mouse lagging issue is a result of the memory upgrade. Try downloading, installing & running:

SuperAntiSpyware Free
MalwareBytes Free
Adwcleaner by Xplode
CCleaner
Microsoft Security Essentials (Anti-virus)

All of these programs are free and the top 3 can be easily download from Cnet. Your best bet is to run the scans in Safe Mode (w/ networking is fine).

Also, it wouldn't hurt to check your mouse settings. Go to Start>Control Panel>Mouse and try adjusting the pointer and double click speed. If you're using a wireless mouse then try changing out the batteries.

I'm sure this isn't exactly the answer you were looking for but...

I'm sure this isn't exactly the answer you were looking for but the memory upgrade that you described is unrelated to the mouse. The most likely cause of the lag is some sort of software related problem and running through the programs I mentioned will greatly improve generally system performance and probably fix the problem.
