In the case that I bought, there is a red cable that I'm unsure where it goes. It's for a 1 x e-SATA port. Does it plug into one of the SATA6G plug ins on the motherboard?

Can you tell us what PSU you are using? What motherboard you are using? What is the cable from? The PSU? The case? Is it a separate red e-SATA cable??

The e-SATA cable is connected directly to the case, attatched to the e-SATA port.

I'm using the following.
ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3

If it is plugged into the e-SATA port of the motherboard, you would only plug this into an external SATA device, like an external hard drive. If you don't have an external drive, you don't need it plugged into your motherboard.

Note: When you say "attached to the e-SATA port" I am assuming it is connected to the e-SATA port on your motherboard.

What is your case? e-SATA I believe is for an External SATA device, meaning something that uses SATA such as an internal HDD, except used externally. It would connect to the SATA6 on the board.
EDIT: I was correct, it is simply used so you dont have to take up USB for external drives. Such as this http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/ite...
USB or SATA connectors could be used.

No, it's connected to the port on the front panel of the case. But I think I'm just going to leave it since I don't have an external HDD or anything of the such. Thanks for your help anyways.
