i've given my own external to a friend of mine to copy something (23gb) on it .. after it's done , when i went home i can't find the folder he copied on the external hard drive .. and he kept swearing that he copied it .. so to make sure , i've clicked on the properties of the external .. used space was 464 gb , and then i selected all the folders in the external to see its properties , they were 441 gb ..which means that the 23 gb folder actually exists but cannot be seen , i've tried everything and showed hidden files/extension/system everything .. but yet i can't see the folder in the external drive and its own space still exists .. then i can see the 23 gb used , but cannot see the folder ! any ideas :/

While in file explorer, go to root of external drive, in top right search box type *.* and hit enter. It should vomit out every file and folder (give it time). Click columns to sort by date (might need to add a "created on" column view)
