distorted text & black screen startup

I recently uploaded a new driver for my ATI Radeon HD 3400. Now, when my computer is inactive for a few hours and I return to it, I get a black screen. When I restart, I also get a black screen and don't see any of the boot up stuff. After about five minutes, the screen wakes up and I see the login screen. When I log in it goes black again and takes another few minutes to come back.

Also, random sections of text look pixellated, and only become clear when I select them.

Windows 7 Professional
32 bit
Intel Core 2 Quad

when you have download from the link it will uncompress the files then you see install and under uninstal so click uninstall that will remove the driver you have then system will ask restart ,so on the restart install the one loaded from the link .

Thanks, I successfully uninstalled the driver- but the problem remains. Maybe it's unrelated to the driver?
