My question might sound stupid but I actually want to know haha..

I currently have an AMD FX 6300 at stock 3.5 GHZ.. I can OC if i wanted to but I don't see why I would want to if I don't need to. Like I can do everything on my computer stably and play my games like BF4 just fine and all.

I guess I'm just wondering.. Why do YOU overclock? I feel like it's similar to running a car at higher rpms then it needs to be like what's the point? I feel like your just taking away the life of the component and stuff when you OC. I'm not trying to make a joke I just want an informed answer is all :??:

Sorry if I sound arrogant. I just need some guidance here for a nub like me.
