Sufficient PSU for gtx 550 ti?

I just got a gtx 550 ti for my ageing computer. I don't consider over clocking but I'm worried my PSU isn't good enough.

I have a generic psu with a weird brand, Penguin. It is a 500 w psu with a continuos total output of 500w (dont know what that means).
The specs:
+5v. +12v1. +12v2. +3.3v -12v. +5Vsb
28a. 18a. 18a. 26a. 0.3a. 2a
The combined power of +5v and +3.3v is 200w.
I've tried doing my maths, 500w-200w=300w
300-(5x2)=290. 290/12=24 1/6.
The required amps for the gtx 550 ti is 24amps but I have a feeling I'm doing something incorrect.
Is this PSU good enough to power the card? Thanks to anyone who has an answer

Solution
Well I guess it should be do-able since the two molex cables you'll be plugging into are not on the same connection/wire that leads back to the PSU (forgot the terminology off the top of my head derp)

That's the problem. It doesn't indicate the combined amperage of the +12v rails. I don't want to ruin my whole computer when I test it so I. Just making sure.

Well you don't directly add up the combined rails but it should provide around 30A or so which should have no problem with a 550 Ti

Why the 550 Ti though? you could get a much more efficient 650/7750 or even a 650 Ti/7770 which should put much less stress on your system

I don't think it will do 30 amps in anyway because it's pretty old and the 5v and 3.3v take up a lot more than the new ones do. I chose the 550 ti because it was on sale. The 7750 was the one to go to before I chose this and I thought my psu was good enough to handle it until I researched a bit more.

I have another question. The graphics card came with a pcie 6pin to 2x molex 4pin. Will it work if I plugged one of the molex into a female molex on its own and the other into a female molex that comes off another cable which is plugged on the DVD drive?

Im not sure if the 2nd one is daisy chained or not. Do u mean the two molex are together or just one of them is with some other random cable. The 2nd molex cable isnt a separate cable though. There is a cable that goes into the DVD drive and the molex comes from the plug (the end) of it.
