Hello, I bought fujitsu siemens laptop and I can't run the setup because windows shows me an error: windows cannot detect any hard drives. There is no function at bios advaced exept 1: execute display bit. Please suguest something :(. Also I was trying to find drivers for my hdd: seagate momentus 5400.2 st98823as

First of all hello.

To enter the bios on power up of the laptop on the splash screen press one of the keys.
One of them should let you into the bios of the laptop.

Delete
F1
F2
F 10
F 11

The reason why you get the error when installing windows is due to the mode set in the bios of the laptop.

The mode will likely be set to Sata, but windows setup does not contain thoes drivers.

You need to go into the bios and set the mode for the hard drive/ sata interface to AHCI mode.

Save the settings before exiting the bios.
And windows should see your hard drive after this change.

after boot up screen (fujitsu siemens) in black screen it says: Smart Failure Predicted on Hard Disk 0: st98823as

this problem is similar to: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-1633977/smart-...

But I can perfectly open the hdd in my other pc using usb adapter or directly to motherboard.

Please could anyone give a detailed tutorial how to update motherboard bios?

You're right, there are XP drivers for this model. The link I found was not loading all of the drivers.

Make sure the drive options are set to ATA mode or Legacy mode in the BIOS. XP won't see the drive if it's set to SATA mode.

Also, since you were getting that drive error message, I'd buy a new drive unless you will be making backups of your system often and are OK with the drive failing.

I do not have money for that now, I'll do it when I'll get some. Ok so I send you some pic links how my pc bios looks like ( it's after my friend did something with bios, updatet I think):

http://www.4shared.com/download/RX9AA3W3/DSC01092.JPG
And this is a boot priority menu: As you can see there is no hdd or dvd rom in sistem, even when it is inserted and have a power supply: http://www.4shared.com/download/YkQRFcfP/DSC01093.JPG
And this is standart IDE setting that I can't change somewhy: http://www.4shared.com/download/Tkt5UC4m/DSC01094.JPG
Besides in security menu there is [Enabled] function on boot security and it's grey so I can't change it.
In boot menu there isn't even my dvd-rom!
Please tell me what I should do next to install windows xp :??: :(

I can't see the images at work, but you said that the BIOS does not detect the hard drive at all? Not just Windows setup? If that is the case, the drive is either bad or the drive connector is bad. At the least try a spare drive in the system and see if it sees it.

Ok I'll try to conect a dvd-rom and a hdd with the usb adaptor sometime. NOTE: after bios update if there is a hdd inserted it takes about 2 mins to get into the bios menu, and when I detatch the hdd It boots imeadiatly. Besides, I made a sata adaptor (home made) and I tried to use the pc hdd with pover supply of course, to get to the bios menu it takes about 2 min and still no devices :(

If as you say the hard drive works in another computer let's see if it working in yours. download a copy of linux mint
http://www.linuxmint.com/edition.php?id=131

and burn it to a dvd.
Start your computer from the new dvd. This will allow you to look at the hard drive. If your drive is ok it'll show upin the linux Mint. If not, your drive is dead or the connector is dead but at least you can work from the dvd until you can replace them.

I'm not going to burn a dvd, because I know that the problem is not physical, but system, It started to not detect the drives after bios update, so please tell about system problem solving, not physical

I'm glad hear you have your problem solved. I'll go back to watching TV.

Obviously you know enough to be able to argue with the experts that are trying to help. This means that you know enough to fix it yourself. I think I'll join @stillblue in front of the TV.
