Hi everybody, today I'm confronted to a new problem :

I'm planning on buying a new budget graphic card, the Radeon R7 260X (an optimized version of the HD 7790)
but I can't seem to decide myself witch brand to get, since everyone of these have got their own advantages.

Here's a review of the MSI R7 260X 2GD5 OC

The Asus R7260X-DC2-2GD5

And finally, the Gigabyte GV-R726XOC-2GD

I'm not planning on over-clocking them but, as I said they've all got their little advantages and anyway it's for a small built.
I'm leaning a bit forwards to the ASUS one since it's got a better cooling and is quieter. The MSI, well it's just the brand that brought me. And for the Gigabyte is because it's got the highest clocked core. Even thought I'm not planning on over-clocking, The ASUS, from what I heard, has the biggest over-clocking potential.

My questions are :
1) Witch one do you thing would have the longest lifetime ?
2) Witch one in your opinion is the quieter and the coolest ?
3) Witch one has got the best performance with the clocked core ?

Overall, witch one would you choose ?

Thank you all for taking the time to read my question.

Hi, thanks for the quick reply !

I agree a hundred percent with that, but what about the core clock ? Does it make a difference that the ASUS one has got 1100 Ghz (clocked core) compared to 1185 for the Gygabite one ?

That just means the Gigabyte version has a higher factory overclock out of the gate, the superior cooler of the Asus card should theoretically allow you to overclock further though

Asus cards generally have a smaller factory overclock compared to its competitors

OK thanks ! I'll follow your advice.
One more question thought, what kind of motherboard would you suggest for around £50 ? Again I'm hesitating on an ASUS, GYGABYTE and MSI one.

Thanks again.

EDIT : Just red your suggestion, actually, I live in Belgium so everything is overpriced but anyway the 7850 requires a higher PSU than the CORSAIR I just bought. (500W only)

Ah yeah, that's a shame, prices are all over the place worldwide

Well out of those mobo brands, I'd personally stick with Asus and Gigabyte

It also depends on the specific board you're looking to buy, reading reviews on specific models would be a good idea too :D

I'm on my 2nd Gigabyte card the first one died after a week, when I installed it and booted the fan was spinning by the time I got into windows it had stopped. I shut it down but it liked to crash after that experience so maybe it was heat damaged. The 2nd card is now working although I had to mess around to actually get it to run anything faster than about 10 fps. That was caused by issues between my GB motherboard applications and the Catalyst driver, basically I've removed anything written by Gigabyte and everything seems fine now.
