Are r9 290 temps OK?

I'm thinking about buying an R9 290 yet am slightly worried about the heat of the card. If it runs at 95 degrees Celsius under load, could this potentially damage any other parts? And will third-party cards arrive with better coolers, or is there a way to make mine cooler without voiding the warranty?

the heat will exit the back of your case so other parts will be fine. yes i would wait for other coolers.

best to wait for third party cooler. or if you are confidence with replacing it yourself, there is a new benchmark in toms which they use the ARticx. go check it out

Yes the stock cooler sucks. Wait for the non-reference cards they will come out eventually (but no one knows when)

No you cannot modify the card without voiding warranty.
