External Hard Drive Making Computer Frozen

I have been using my seagate backup plus 1tb for over 6 months. Yesterday, i connected it to my laptop then it starts to load. I mea the green bar in my computer wont stop loading. When i try to test it with Testdisk, the program would say please wait. Then i tried the other way round, using Crystal Disk Info, freeze the program when i connect the HDD. Then i try to look the properties of my external HDD in my computer, my computer stops responding. I could find the device in my device manager. In the disk management, it is stuck at connecting to virtual disk. When i remove the hdd, it works normally.

Any methods to recover the data?
I am just trying to save the data not the drive. Please kindly suggest your answers.

I tested to do with a Ubuntu Live CD either, wont show up on my HDD. So I decided to change usb 3.0 adapater , use another and try again, wont show up on either. I will try to download the program you gave above and try it and tell you within 2-3days. Connection pretty slow in our country.
